Products

The Product Module is used to define products and associate them with factories. A product may be held in stock as a finished product or for re-use in the manufacturing process.

Single Product Entry

A product is only entered once, the same product record is used throughout all the modules where required.

The User can define as many properties of a product that are needed. This can be used to hold quality certificate information, sizes, colour, plus much more.

Selling, packing size and purchasing units are associated with products.

A customer defined product may be created when creating a sales order, if the user has the appropriate rights. A customer may have specific product dimensions or other specified properties where a standard product is not suitable. These customer defined products can be used for either a single order or treated like any standard product and used for repeat orders. A product may be purchased or manufactured.

The flexibility of the product management system is enhanced by the facility to associate individual products with suppliers and also hold alternatives, should the need arise.

Customer accounts can also be linked with products. A customer may have a specific price for a product and the customer’s name for that product may also be stored and printed on all documentation.

A full Bill of Materials can be held against each product, with a full costing breakdown, plus the stage a material is used in the manufacturing process.

Products used as materials in the manufacture process are deducted from stock at each process or can be ’back flushed’ at the end of the production cycle.

Production Runs can be compared against actual costs, allowing better Job Costing and more accurate budgeting of resources.
