Services - Windows and Microsoft SQL Server

Windows and Microsoft SQL Server

Based on Microsoft’s SQL Server relational database management system (RDMS), Pyramid ERP is fully scalable to meet the needs of any company, any size. Our system makes use of this secure, stable environment that SQL Server provides to give you the reliability you require.

Built on a single source database, Pyramid ERP makes use of a core set of tables that all other modules plug into. The advantage of this approach to you, the user, is that when a product is created in one part of the system (such as production), it is immediately available to all other areas of the organisation (sales, accounts, invoicing, etc) without the need to re-key any information. This saves time and resources and eliminates the risk of errors occurring as a result of duplicate data.

Flexible reporting is essential in sales environments where market conditions can quickly change and new questions are asked of the data on a daily basis. Pyramid recognises this requirement and makes use of the power of SQL Server to allow business analysts and management teams to look at their data in any way they desire.

As SQL Server rapidly becomes the industry standard RDMS, more and more external reporting tools are available, this provides management teams with the information they require to run their business. Standard reports can be constructed and saved or ad hoc queries can be generated (either from our own reporting tool or whichever third party application you desire) to suit the demands of a modern business environment.

The security features of SQL Server, combined with Access Levels System (ALS) provided by Pyramid ERP help to ensure that sensitive data is kept away from prying eyes. Systems administrators can configure custom user groups, allowing different members of staff access to only the areas of the system that they are meant to see. In addition to this, SQL Server offers a range of options to automatically backup data whilst in live operation and the ability to rollback transactions. Therefore, if you are unfortunate enough to suffer a hardware failure, downtime can be kept to the absolute minimum.

Our software is designed to run as a client/server application. This means that your data is kept in a central, secure location and users connect across the network from their desktop machines. This means that virtually any windows based PC, with minimum system requirements is able to run Pyramid ERP from any location on your network and the server can be as large or small as required to meet the usage requirements.

From day one, Pyramid ERP was designed with Wide Area Networks in mind. We have, therefore, kept network bandwidth requirements to a minimum in every part of the application.
